A bitch about a beach

The sun was so bright and beautiful today, we decided to risk our nearest beach, the bay of St Brieuc. Sometimes there are nasty piles of decomposing seaweed which can be dangerous because they give off toxic gases As you can see above, the seaweed was spread like a big brown cowpat over the whole bay. Some horses and dogs have died here so I am always very careful to stop Porridge running off into the attractive sludge, where she likes to roll given half a chance. We kept to the bottom of the cliffs, where it is cleaner.

It is supposedly protected as a place of outstanding natural beauty... hmmph.

It is a wonderful place. How sad that it has suffered so much from pollution.
Well, we got back home safely...

Blech. Not like natural decomposition isn't as malodorous and dangerous as it needs to be already.

ah yes, I am becoming somewhat of an expert and a bore on 'les algues toxiques'

but I had read that it was being collected and disposed of safely, is that not so?
