I am in love...

We spend every spare moment together.

In bed.
Even in the bath.

It gets a bit steamy, but that hasn't posed any problems so far.

Yes, I adore my Kindle.

I am trying to ration my book buying by alternating the classics, which are free on project gutenberg, with on-line purchases which are very quick and only too easy to click on...

So Zoo city (Lauren Beukes) has been sandwiched between Fanny Burney and Jane Austen.
I think I might try a spot of Machiavelli next and perhaps go into politics... or will it be Henry James?

I can make the print appear nice and large, it is light to hold, and I can download a few chapters on trial of anything I fancy. The trouble is I always want to buy it. Is there a help group for addicts?

I'm off for a long soak.

My daughter says exactly the same thing about the Kindle. I want one, but I already spend too much time doing things I like when I should be doing things I ought.

This is the first time I've felt any Kindle-envy at all - you make it sound very appealing. I guess it could be like CDs vs vinyl, in that you don't have to give up one form to embrace the convenience of the other? (though CDs hardly seem convenient nowawadays but I can't bring myself to include MP3s in that analogy). Happy reading!

Oh, yes, yes, yes! I love my Kindle. Especially the nice large print and always remembering what page I am on. Also it is keeping me sober; my rule is I get to buy a book any day I don't buy a bottle of wine.

anne, the kindle is my reward for whenI've done the things I have to do...well that's the idea anyway...
amy, kindles are great for expats who are far from libraries and bookshops...but I'm still happy to take possession of my English friends castoffs in paper form.
duchess what about half a book if you only drink half a bottle?

Another blogging friend said his sceptical wife was sold when she found she could hold a glass of wine in one hand and turn the page without having to put the glass of wine down, so evidently the sobriety aspect is debatable!

And here I thought it was a warm body with whom you are in love!!! I have resisted buying a Kindle and am resisting purchasing books... I've been using our library for the last year or more rather than going to the book store. I've saved hundreds of dollars by using the library... (there is a counter on the website that tells me how much I save). The ecological person in me says we should save paper & use the Kindle... Yes I'm conflicted.
