The dangers of small country supermarkets

Just before the Cantal scenery became spectacular, and shops non existent, we stopped at a small supermarket for supplies. Our gite was in a glorious and very isolated spot with views across the snowy slopes. The weather started to break and heavy rain set in with storm force winds. We battened down the hatches and ate our simple lunch of various sausages and cheese and maybe a little wine...

No really, there was snow...well a bit...before the rain started. You can see it through the open door of our gite.

And then I got food poisoning...

How beautiful! I'm glad you posted a picture because a "gite" did not sound as comfy and as homey as it actually looks.

Wow! And then its counterpart, what a bummer! Did it last for the duration?

I think I did see a very small white patch that could be snow. Sorry about the food poisoning. I hope you're over it now ....
