Summer Cold

Darling daughter has gone on holiday for a few days, but before she went she brought the plague into the house...
Yes...A Summer cold.

That's what happens when you swim in the sea ...at midnight...
She said that's what she did.
It must have been waiting for her in the sea.
It has invaded my singing mucous membranes and made me even more neurotic than usual.
I have only 6 days to recover before I have to sing a concert. Well, a bar...opposite a camp site.
Maybe they wont notice.
I'm going downstairs to wrap myself in a blanket and drink whisky and hot water in front of Richard and Judy who will probably advise me on my reading list. I might not be able to hear their recommendations owing to the baying of Porridge's suitors.

She is still on heat and we are under seige.

They have breached the exterior perimeter wall.
There is one that is even bigger whiter and hairier than Porridge herself which is capable of jumping over the wall effortlessly. She sits at the french windows, like Lorelei, fancying him, and whimpering seductively.
My Sweet goes and chases him back out again every so often. Her hero...

We had a sheepdog once, & when the suitors came calling I was quite distressed. We had a country Hotel, & it was not a good idea to have an in-heat bitch about, so I zoomed her off to the vet to be speyed! Poor girl. She recovered well, though.

My poor little dog goes into heat only once a year or so and she gets no suitors. Apparently no one loves her in the doggy world.

Aww - I hope you feel better soon. Summer colds are the worst! And hope the baying subsides so you can rest.

It is unfortnate that you have fleed the misery that the rain and cold bring in the UK only to be caught out by the ever persistant cold germs!

I have just read through your blog (after recommendation, and have to say I have really enjoyed the experience. I have a Golden Retriver (Yellow - Named by my Son) and I can sympathise with you.

Anyway I';m getting sidetracked (as often happens after I read through peoples thoughts and articles), your website has been reviewed and recommended for entry to The Expat Directory.
A Link to your website (and supporting image) has been added to The Expat Directory. Here is the URL location where we have added the link on our site:
http://www.theexpatdirectory.com/community/France/Bretagne_(Brittany).htm and also http://community.theexpatdirectory.com/France/Bretagne_(Brittany).htm

I have sent you an email with some info in case you want to link back to the site.

Hope the cold passes.... As an afterburner, you dont really take reading advice from Richard and Judy do you? lol

Oh, there's nothing worse than a summer cold. You get those cold sweats and the summer heat just makes it worse! Drink up that whiskey or maybe make up a "rusty nail" - 1 1/2 ozs. scotch, 1/2 oz. drambuie, twist of lemon peel. Mix it all up and pour over ice cubes and garnish with a lemon twist.

Poor Porridge. Will you get her fixed after this?

Get well soon!

I am too grumpy to reply, I now have bronchitis. At least Porridge isnt having much fun either...
She is going to have puppies, but not yet (I hope), she is too young, and not with any old riff raff either. She is a Princess with a pedigree that goes back even further than My Sweet H's and she was bred by a Belgian Baronne.
I have to say that the rusty nail sounds good...there's nothing like the chink of ice cubes
