Even as we speak she is huddling in a piece of my old stage furniture (it used to be lit up and filled with shoes, one pair for each song!) in the garage under towels and blankets, to make her both cold proof and Porridge proof. Peering through the gap has revealed a few dark blobs, I think only four...I hope only four...
Now the race is on. Darling D informs me that another girl in her class is expecting kittens (if you know what I mean). It is not a sellers market, but she says she might be able to whip up some interest. We must be quick and hope that ours are the first out.
I may just possibly post a picture when they are a bit bigger but no soppy comments please. I can't have my reputation as a hard woman undermined.
It is a pity you are all so far away or I'm sure you would just love one wouldn't you...
mmm I must call Lucy.

Can you ship one 'cross the big pond?
Oh boy. The joys of owning pets! I went through that once with six little Siamese kittens. It was a treat when they all got old enough to walk around but still too young to be away from their mother.
Oh dear1 Now you're in BIG trouble ... we had a kitten problem a while ago ... I even blogged about it .... the offending female is now spayed thanks to the SPCA!
It's such a springtime thing, isn't it? I love driving around the countryside seeing all the little lambs and calves alongside their mothers...but as to what to do with a houseful of kittens, I don't know!
Once had a stray cat come to live, who produced 5 kittens. All females, but one. I managed to find homes for them all, but we had to take the cat to the SPCA, since we were about to move into an inner city hotel, to live.
I would rather like one of Kitty's little ones now!
Oh, I am sorry...
We've turned down so many kittens and it doesn't get any easier, but I must say no. Finding folks to take care when we go away, a spoilt and possessive dog, no, we must stay firm.
I cry every time...
Now don't cry Lucy, it isnt that bad. For a start there are only three, it was hard to tell in the dark box!
I think we will probably keep one...and I am sure I can find homes for the other two amongst the vast network of the childrens impressionable chums.
Oh good, I do hope so...
