Hedgehog Woman

It’s cold and dark today: a blustery gloomy kind of dark, the sort of dark that triggers SAD syndrome. The only light is coming from the computer screen. The house is cold. The wood stove has temporarily won the struggle between man and inanimate object and has gone out. I have known four wood stoves intimately in the country phase of my life, and I have to admit that to know them has not been to love them. They have all required more attention than a nursing baby, filling the house with smoke when the wind is in the wrong direction, either overheating as they greedily consume log after log at top speed or going out with insufficient air flow. Perhaps I have been unlucky…
I am getting more and more sluggish and prickly, winding down, looking around for somewhere quiet to sleep, where I can dream away the winter until the sun shines again. Where is my shoebox? I am turning into a hedgehog.

Sounds highly desirable to me.
Some friends have just got a new woodburner, a free-standing thing, and I'm quite envious of it, it seems so easy and efficient compared to our thing, which is sort of an open fire but with doors on, Spanish and bought at some expense the first year here, while we were a bit green, from Garsmeur in Bourbriac. You live and learn, usually too late.

About cameras, if you've got the last reclame from Leclerc, there's an interesting promo (p.27) on a Canon Powershot. It's not exactly the same model as mine, the zoom is slightly less powerful but the pixel count is higher. It's a good price, though you can end up paying out on extra: battery charger, lens guard, cards and card reader, etc etc. I'd recommend it though, I think.

Meet me sometime in StBrieuc and we'll talk cameras and have a bitch about Brittany!

yes, I would like to meet up. I think it is rather brave of us, after all the things I tell my children about not meeting people they have contacted via the internet! We might both be short fat middle-aged men with moustaches and ulterior motives. I wonder if that ever happens, and two disguised stalkers get together only to find that there is no prey.It is true that I am starting a moustache, but only as a result of HRT! See you soon
