A quickie from the sick sofa

Strange how things turn out.
Today, I was supposed to drive 90 kilometres and record some vocals for a new project of funk music. But I woke up with a needle stabbing me intermittantly in my right ear. And a croaky throat. And a sinusitis. So it will have to wait...

I'm wrapped up in a blanket in front of one of those bloody wood stoves, with the television mumbling in the background. Every so often, I get up and attack the piano, because there is no one at home to suffer from my efforts to learn a nasty set of jazz chords for my workshop next Friday.
There is something rather delightful about succumbing to a non life threatening illness. Non essential tasks have ceased to bother me. I shall be floating upstairs to try and sleep it off in a minute. Like other self employed people, I am never ill. We cant afford it. I have to be recovered by Tuesday then...
Good, that gives me time to look at your blogs.

Yeah! Submit. Surrender. Let it go. Go with it.
all lousy, empty words, until we just do it. Hahaha. Seriously, be well. Enjoy banging out those chords!

I am so glad I dont have to deal with fires any more. They never seemed to work for me, and must have sensed my utter disgust, at having to feed them, clean them, and try to master them. Inefficient way to heat, and greedy to keep.
Oh for some blissful alone time...

I would like to have more non-life-threatening illnesses too, but the trouble is, they make me feel soooo bad.

Actually, do men ever get illnesses that *aren't* life-threatening?

Enjoy it while you have it, but get over it soon. Colds get old fast.

Yes, one can see the appeal for those Victorian ladies who were perpetual invalids suffering attacks of the vapours and reclining on chaises longues... and it let them off sex and potential death in childbed too I suppose.

Hope you're feeling a bit better now!

Some time out, stepping outside the norm is good for everyone, and if it can be spent in the company of dogs, a stove and a piano so much the better

S I have had fun tickling my ivories this week
Meggie I have just heard that we are in for another week of arctic weather. It is time to start being nice to the wood stoves again.
Cog I think that most men that i know get ill rarely but dramatically. Whereas women aren't so black and white about it. Some days I feel better than others...
20th C there are some strange new bugs about i think.
Lucy I like the sound of the chaise longue ...
Mouse, the dog is too smelly to be good company at the moment.
