Recently, in the mornings, when Porridge and I look outside the kitchen door, strange gifts await us on the step...We wonder whether they might be edible....
We hear strange noises coming from the garden in the middle of the night...
So, last night, we lay in wait, to see what was going on. And this is what we saw:

That is disgusting! I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the mushroom curry so much now...
But at least he doesn't put the bags in his pocket and forget about them I suppose. What happens to them after that?
I've been over here visiting a few times via Lucy's. And yes, that looks disgusting but slugman would be my hero if he were doing that in my garden! What a hilarious photo.
We need deer man over here. The neighbors on both sides of us have gone to great lengths to keep them out, but it's not working.
EEEEEW! He leaves them on your DOOR?!?
Oh, and Mike? Two words, Dude. Shot. Gun.
Rosie, someone once told me that if you leave a plate of beer near where the slugs hang out, they'll climb up in there and drown. Maybe Slug Man can use that trick to help him in his crusade?
that's the funniest thing i've ever seen. the headlamp...ohmahgah.
very funny .... but I, like others here, wonder what you do with the slugs. I know the French are famous (rightly or wrongly) for eating some very strange things ... but slugs ... yuck!
I tried escargots once, and managed to get them down but I still couldn't get over what they actually were. We used to be inundated with them in our wet garden. *eeewwww* But SLUGS? as an appetizer or in a stew??? Non, merci!!! :(
NO UGH! We certainly don't eat them...even Porridge wont touch them. Slugman collects all slugs (and snails) and puts them in a plastic bag, leaves them on the doorstep to horrify me, and then puts the sealed bag in the dustbin...We have discovered by experience that throwing them over the hedge into the field doesnt work. They just slime their way back home.
Oh yes, I had the same thought as Lucy. At least Slugman is not Gom!
I love the outfit, very fetching!!
They do say slugs cannot resist beer. I have seen evidence of this, & burying a jar containig beer, (leaving the top open, & unburied of course)will give you a jar full next morning. Might be easier than being a caped crusader?
We have tried beer, but the amount of rain that we get here means that any jar would soon be overflowing, unless we put little umbrellas over them...which would be a bit too much like leaving them a cocktail...
and of course there is the problem of the house teenagers sneaking out with straws to drink the slugbait...
Is this man available for hire?
mouse, yes he is...spoon and plastic nag at the ready...I think I'll leave in that typing error...freudian slip?
