2.17am

Yes it is 2.17 am…I have just driven home after my concert through leafy country lanes and a few big roads but not many. I saw maybe six cars in an hour and a half …

I had to brake hard to avoid a badger, and I might have just clipped it, but I couldn’t feel anything, or see anything. On the way up the hill, nearly home, a baby fox’s eyes gleamed from afar in my headlights. It slipped into the field of barley as I drew level with it. Benoit’s chickens are nearby, but should be safely locked up in their fancy henhouse.
The verges are long and luxuriant and overgrown. The forest is darkly mysterious and the sky is blazing with stars. The weather has turned and it is warm and dry and nearly mid summer.

Just for a moment, tonight, central Brittany is as good as it gets, and I can't think of anywhere I would rather be.

Ah, what a lovely post!
As I looked up that the sky this dark evening, seeing the moon, crescent, & almost on it's back, I thought of my Grandfather- "On it's back, bad weather."
There were stars twinkling too, & I thought, it may not bode too much nasitiness.
